It is fair to say that the food and catering plays a big part at a wedding. Catering contributes to your guests’ experience and enjoyment of your wedding – you can take it from us that well fed guests are happy guests! Critically, when planning a Jewish wedding, you may be considering whether or not you should hire a Kosher caterer. The decision to go with Kosher catering may depend on your family’s beliefs or the dietary requirements of your guests.

One of the key Kosher rules is not to mix meat and dairy. If your venue doesn’t have a separate catering facility like this, we take all the precautions to sterilise the kitchen to conform with the regulations of kashrut (Jewish dietary law). Catering staff also only use food products that have been supervised by a rabbi. As Kosher caterers we also bring in and use all our own equipment as we are unable to use the equipment at a non-Kosher venue.

Open Table are the experts when it comes to kosher catering. We are the only caterers offering a kosher service in the Byron Shire and Gold Coast are also. We have the ability to customize requests with the utmost attention to detail. As it is quite a big project and process to organise everything in the kosher style our minimum guest numbers is 100.

Kosher certainly does not mean that your wedding party or food will be compromised! In fact, last month we had the honour of catering an awesome Kosher wedding at the stunning Forget Me Not venue at Coopers Shoot. This was a party indeed!

The menu included canapés such as Tuna tataki with a preserved lime coriander dressing, Pumpkin kibbeh filled with chickpea & silver beet & salsa, and Halloumi parcels served with smoky eggplant.

Mains were served banquet style and the flavours were bursting from the plates. Dishes such as Sumac & Za’atar incrusted barramundi served on a bed of chickpea, Melting ocean trout tahini tarator style topped with herb salad & pomegranate and Ancient grain salad, puy lentil, caramelised figs & shallots.

Dessert canapés were Filo cigars filled with honey, cinnamon caramelised almonds & walnuts served with orange blossoms syrup, Strawberry and rose “Eton Mess” simple yet uberly delicious Chocolate dipped dates on crystalised rose petals.

Kosher wedding catering is what we do best. We understand all of the ins and outs of what is required as well as understanding what you as the bride and groom want from your wedding. Food is our passion so we make sure that it’s exactly to your liking and in keeping with the kosher laws – win win!
