Yemeni Zehoug is a hot chilli paste from Yemen. It’s a spicy flavour, similar to salsa. You can use it as a condiment, marinade, spread (for the brave ones) as a dip, in sauces, for dressings and many more…enjoy!
- 50g Red chillies
- 50g Green chillies
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1 bunch chopped fresh coriander leaves, washed and dried well
- 1 tsp Cardamom
- ¼ cup olive oil
- Sea salt
- Mix all the ingredients in a food processor or mortar and pestle
- Pour into a sterilised jar and seal well.
This relish will last for 10+ days in the fridge, or you can store in the freezer (make sure to mark the date and the name).
